For my choice on the 50 imacs I chose this persons suggestion.
I will probably not give it to a charity but probably to one of my siblings. They will be able to use it as an internet machine. They will also be able to load different applications on to it. I will probably delete some of the schools applications. 1/4/07 I have run into some roadblocks. The Ubuntu will not work on my imac and i have tried multiple different disks and downloaded it multiple times. So now I am going to try xubuntu. It may or may not work.

UBUNTU PPC LINUX ( http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUbuntu/download#currentrelease ) can be loaded on these, either by cd or by network boot. Thus loaded they can be basic internet boxes for Senior centers, Boys N Girls club's and local non-profit groups that help poor people such as Salvation Army, Groups that help homeless people, battered women's shelters etc.
There is a need in these groups of non-profits for computers for basic network access or for internal processing of documents.
